Time To Stand Out With A Retro Clock
Part of every interior decorator's room includes a time piece. If decorating a room and you want to add a retro clock to balance out the color or style of a room, then you have a diverse pool to choose from. The clock which be the focal point of a room, add contrast to a certain era or pattern, or just add fun should be carefully chosen just like the rest of the art and furniture of the room. When looking for a retro clock, you should keep in mind the diffferent types and styles you have available to find the perfect piece. If you choose your clock from a specific decade, then that will give you a good idea of what you will want to add to the room. Each decade of clocks has its own personality and you can easily find one to fit your decorating style. If you are going to look for a retro clock that is digital, then you will have to start in the 1970's when digital was popular. Digital clocks, most commonly used today for nightstand clocks were made in the 1970's in all shapes, designs and sizes. The colors were also very bright and eye-catching. A large digital wall clock with neon colors surrounding it and a back-light that really stands out in lower light areas, can be mesmerizing. If you are looking for a retro clock in a 1950's style, then consider the room you are going to be placing it. For instance, there are dressier clocks from the period that may be more suited for formal rooms. However, it is sometimes a great conversational piece when placed in a room that doesn't necessarily match the formal or casual nature of a room. Standing out from the furniture and other accents may be done intentionally to draw attention to the the clock and give a different feeling about the owner and the room. There are really no rules of style when adding a retro clock in the mix. It can be as unique as you wish. They are a part of the art work that resides in a room and should reflect your taste. Whether you are choosing a clock from any one of the past generations, adding one that ties the room together by color, materials used, period or just showing differences in genres is a fun and exciting way to use the retro time pieces.
