Part of every interior decorator's room includes a time piece. If decorating a room and you want to add a retro clock to balance out the color or style of a room, then you have a diverse pool to choose from. For instance, there are dressier clocks from the period that may be more suited for formal rooms. However, it is sometimes a great conversational piece when placed in a room that doesn't necessarily match the formal or casual nature of a room. Standing out from the furniture and other accents may be done intentionally to draw attention to the the clock and give a different feeling about the owner and the room. There are really no rules of style when adding a retro clock in the mix. It can be as unique as you wish. They are a part of the art work that resides in a room and should reflect your taste.
