Information About Projection Clocks

Some clocks, known as projection clocks, contain a projector that enables a clock's image to become enlarged and projected onto another location. This enlarged image may be displayed on the ceiling, on the wall, or on any other flat surface. 

One advantage of owning one of these clocks is that the image that is displayed is large enough for people who wear glasses to be able to see it without needing to use them. Not only is the image enlarged, but it is usually displayed in a bright color, typically red, that makes it even easier to be read. Another advantage is having the ability to move the image to different places that a normal clocks would not be able to be placed.

Projection clocks can be either analog clocks or digital clocks, but both types require the use of a backlight. The backlight used can be an incandescent bulb, a light-emitting diode (LED), a liquid crystal display (LCD), a halogen bulb, or other types of light sources. The light source that is used usually depends on the type of clock that it is being used on. Most of the modern styles use a LED or LCD display with a red LED projector.

There are two different types of projection clocks, low-brightness or high-brightness. Though the concept is the same, there are some major differences between the two types. The image on low-brightness clocks can only be viewed if the room is dark, while the image on high-brightness clocks can be viewed in the daylight.

High-brightness clocks typically use a halogen bulb as a backlight, while low-brightness clocks use other light sources. Low-brightness clocks are typically digital clocks, while high-brightness clocks are usually analog clocks.

The majority of projection clocks are low-brightness, though high-brightness clocks are becoming more popular. High-brightness clocks tend to be a bit more expensive than low-brightness clocks because of their more sophisticated technology.

The first projection clocks were made over one hundred years ago. At that time, only analog clocks were available and they were not very sophisticated. Today, the clocks project many different images. Some of them display cartoon characters, team logos, popular cars, and many other images.

Many companies are using these clocks as part of their advertising campaigns by having their company logo as part of the display. Some of them even display the date, the current temperature, and the current weather conditions. The technology behind these clocks has certainly come a long way.
